About Me

Hello, and welcome to my site! My name is Maddie Merwin, and I am excited to share with you a bit about myself. Before deciding to move to Tampa, I was born and raised in Rockford, IL, a smaller city west of Chicago. I attended and graduated from high school and decided to pursue a marketing degree at The University of Tampa. Working and going to school in Tampa presented me with various opportunities that I am grateful to have experienced. Although being far from home is tough, I love my new home here in Tampa.

Although I continue to face many obstacles in all aspects of my life, I take those as a learning opportunity and push forward. Being head-strong has taught me independence, perseverance, will-power, and much more. These characteristics not only help me with life situations, but they help me in the workplace, too.

Get To Know Me!

In this video, I will briefly discuss how I learned about The University of Tampa, my studies, my experience, and some of my skills and certifications. For more specific details on this information, please visit my other pages listed at the top of my site!

Hobbies and Interests

Volleyball

Since I was 10 years old, I have been playing volleyball. It was a huge passion of mine, and I still play recreationally to this day.

Traveling

Traveling even the shortest distances is still fun for me. If I had more money, I would be on a plane going somewhere all the time.

Animals

I love all animals and used to donate to an animal shelter back in my hometown. I pet sit as a side gig. I wish my dog was here in Tampa!

Baking

I love to bake! Baking comes easy to me. Some of my specialties with baking are chocolate chip banana bread, homemade cake and frosting, and cookies.

Weather

Being from the Midwest, I grew up on crazy weather, like tornadoes. I love learning about weather and being able to see crazy weather events, like Hurricane Milton.

Outdoors

Anything related to the outdoors has a special place in my heart. I love the beach most of all, but I also love visiting lakes, mountains, and state parks around the nation.

My Code of Ethics

Ethics can always be such a tricky concept to grasp depending on the situation. However, my code of ethics is written on my heart. The top 3 main rules I live by are..

Treat Others as You Would Want to be Treated
Have Mutual Respect Towards One Another
All Actions Have Consequences

Although I have many more ethics to live by, these are the few that I always carry with me!
